Dario Herrera for Congress
|
Opponents registered the .ORG version of his domain name and put up a negative/parody webpage.
|
This is a particularly nasty tactic. Opponents of Dario Herrera put up a website that looked like a normal campaign site, but had sections titled: Mo' Money, Kickbacks, Graft, etc.
From the negative website: "I have seen a tremendous amount of money elected officials can collect under the table. Frankly folks, I need a bigger paycheck. How the hell do you expect me to pay for my $400,000 house on the $40,000 a year I make on the County Commission?"
Dario Herrera lost his 2002 election for Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, 56% to 37%
